What is Tack?
Section titled “What is Tack?”An assistant you text from iMessage. It does data entry in your business tools for you: today it books jobs and closes out visits in Jobber and drafts invoices and estimates in QuickBooks Online. There’s no app to install.
Who is it for?
Section titled “Who is it for?”People who aren’t always near a computer: home service owners and techs, contractors, outside sales reps, real estate agents, appraisers, distributor reps and maintenance technicians. Jobber and QuickBooks users can use it today; tools for the other groups are being built.
Do I need to install an app?
Section titled “Do I need to install an app?”No. You use the Messages app that’s already on your phone. The website is only for signing up, connecting tools, billing and settings.
Does it work on Android?
Section titled “Does it work on Android?”Yes. You text a regular phone number, +1 (856) 563-4805. On Android your texts go as normal text messages (SMS); on iPhone, iPad and Mac they go by iMessage.
Which tools does it work with?
Section titled “Which tools does it work with?”QuickBooks Online works today. HubSpot, Pipedrive, DocuSign, CompanyCam, Gmail and Outlook are built and coming soon, once each tool’s app is approved. Follow Up Boss is built too and coming soon. Jobber is paused for new connections for now. Construction, ERP, appraisal and maintenance tools are planned. Ask “do you work with…?” in your thread to get an answer and tell us you use a tool (how that works). The supported tools list shows the current status of each one.
Will it send things to my customers without asking?
Section titled “Will it send things to my customers without asking?”No. Anything that goes to another person (an invoice, a quote), anything involving money, and any delete always waits for your OK, with a preview of exactly what will be sent.
What if it gets something wrong?
Section titled “What if it gets something wrong?”Records it creates on its own can be undone by texting “undo” within 10 minutes (24 hours for drafts). When it’s unsure about a detail, it asks instead of guessing, and it’s instructed never to say something worked unless the tool confirmed it.
Can my whole crew use it?
Section titled “Can my whole crew use it?”Yes, on the Crew and Pro plans. The owner connects the company’s tools once, invites the team from the account dashboard, and sets what each person can do. Every person texts from their own phone.
Does it understand voice notes and photos?
Section titled “Does it understand voice notes and photos?”Not yet. Transcribing voice notes and filing photos to the right job are planned.
How much does it cost?
Section titled “How much does it cost?”The pilot is free. Planned pricing after that, subject to change: Solo at $49 a month for one person, Crew at $39 per person per month (minimum 3), and Pro at $79 per person per month. Each plan includes a monthly task allowance, and chatting and approvals don’t count as tasks. New accounts get a free trial of 14 days or 50 tasks, whichever comes first, with no card needed to start.
Do you ever ask for my password?
Section titled “Do you ever ask for my password?”Never by text. Tools connect with one-tap sign-in, where you sign in on the tool’s own page, or with an API key you paste into a secure page. For websites without an API, you’ll save the login on a secure page and approve each use (saved logins, coming soon).
Is my data used to train AI?
