Confirmations and undo

Which requests the assistant asks about first, how long an approval waits, and how to undo by texting "undo".

Most requests just get done. A few always wait for your OK. And most things it creates can be taken back.

Always asks:

  • Sending something to another person, like a quote or invoice to a customer. You see who gets what. (Jobber doesn’t let apps send quotes or invoices, so there the assistant texts you a link to send it from Jobber yourself. See the Jobber page.)
  • Money, like recording a payment or entering a bill.
  • Deleting or voiding a record.

Also asks when:

  • It’s more than 5 records at once. For example, “add these 12 line items.” It asks once, with a summary.
  • It isn’t sure what you meant. It says so and checks.
  • A detail didn’t come from you. If a name, amount or date isn’t in your messages or your tools, it shows you that detail and asks.
  • It matched a name that isn’t spelled the same. It tells you: I matched “Amy’s birth sanctuary” to Amy’s Bird Sanctuary. Is that right? It never uses a close-but-not-exact match without asking.

Doesn’t ask: looking things up, and creating everyday records like a job, a client, a note, a finished visit, or a draft quote or invoice. You get a short summary of what it did.

The assistant asks one plain question that names what’s at stake, like Should I send invoice #1040 to Amy’s Bird Sanctuary for $250? Answer it the way you’d answer a person.

  • Yes: “yes”, “ok”, “sure”, “send it”, “go ahead”, “sounds good”. In Spanish: “sí”, “dale”, “claro”, “va”, “órale”, “sí, mándalo”. You can also tap 👍 on the preview.
  • No: “no”, “cancel”, “hold off”, “nah” (in Spanish: “no”, “espera”, “cancela”, “mejor no”). Or tap 👎.
  • Change something: just say what. “Make it $1,500” works.

A request waiting for your OK expires after 30 minutes. If you answer later, the assistant asks if you want it redone.

Text undo (or “undo that”, or “deshaz eso” in Spanish) to reverse the last thing the assistant did:

What it did How long you have
Created a record (job, client, note) 10 minutes
Created a draft (draft quote or invoice) 24 hours
Sent something to someone Can’t be undone

Good to know:

  • Undo only reaches the most recent thing. It won’t skip past something that was sent to undo something older.
  • After the time runs out, ask it to delete or void the record instead. That’s a delete, so it asks first.
  • Sent items can’t be unsent. That’s why sending always asks first.
  • Some tools can’t truly delete. In Jobber, for example, undoing a job closes it, undoing a quote archives it, and undoing an invoice voids it. Each tool’s page lists how undo works there.

You can see everything the assistant did on the Activity tab of your account dashboard, and undo recent items there with Undo, within the same time limits.
