Notion

Add rows to your Notion trackers, update a status or date, jot notes onto a job page, create pages and read them back, all by text. Built, not open yet; an owner or admin connects it once for the team.

Built, not open yetFiles

Built, not open yet. Everything on this page is built. You can connect Notion once our Notion app is approved and set up. Ask in your thread and we'll text you when it's ready.

Built, not open yet. The Notion actions below are built. You can connect Notion once our Notion integration is public. Until then, ask in your thread and we’ll text you when it’s ready.

You text What happens in Notion
“Where’s my Leads tracker?” Finds the page or database and replies with its link
“Add Henderson to my Leads tracker, status New, phone 512-555-0142” Adds a row to the database, filling in the columns you named. Anything without a matching column goes on the new row’s page
“Mark Henderson as Won in Leads” Changes one column on that row: a status, select, date, checkbox, number or text
“Add to the Henderson job page: customer wants matte finish” Adds your note to the end of the page
“New page under Henderson job called Punch list: touch up trim, replace fan cover” Creates the page with your text, under the page you name (or as a private page in your workspace)
“What’s in my Leads tracker marked Hot?” Lists the rows with that value, newest first
“What’s on the Henderson job page?” Replies with the row’s fields and the latest lines on the page
“Switch to the Henderson notes” Makes that page your current doc, so the notes you text next go there. Nothing is written
“Also, customer wants matte finish” Adds the note to the end of your current doc (see Keeping notes in one doc)

Everything on this list happens right away, and you get a short reply saying what was done. Text undo within 10 minutes to take back the last one: a new row or page goes to Notion’s trash, a note you added is removed (the rest of the page stays), and a changed column gets its previous value back. Lookups don’t change anything. See Confirmations and undo for when the assistant asks first anyway.

See the full list of what the assistant can do in Notion, with example texts, the API call behind each action, and which ones ask first or can be undone.

Start a doc and keep adding to it by text. The assistant remembers which doc you’re on, so your notes don’t scatter across new pages.

  • Start one: “start a new doc for Smith”, or “turn my 2pm Granola meeting into a doc” (it writes up the summary and action items). That doc is now your current doc.
  • Keep adding: “also, customer wants matte finish”, a voice note, or “one more thing…” goes at the end of the current doc. The reply names it: “Added to Garcia job notes.”
  • Another doc: “add to the Smith page: tile delivered” writes there and makes it current. “Switch to the Henderson notes” makes it current without writing anything.
  • Business tasks stay where they belong: “invoice Henderson $450” or “note for Henderson: gate code 4412” go to your business tools as usual (a customer note goes on their record in Jobber or your CRM). If a note could go either way, the assistant asks once.
  • Done: “done with that” (or “listo con eso”) closes the doc, and it closes on its own after a day without notes. Undo takes the last note back out.
  • Where new docs go: with both Notion and Google Docs connected, the assistant asks once which to use and remembers it. Text “use Google Docs for notes” to change it.
  • A Notion workspace on any plan.
  • The Tack owner or an admin connects Notion. It’s a company connection: one connection that the owner or admin shares with the team.
  • The assistant only sees the pages and databases you share with it while connecting. A page inside a shared page is shared too.
  1. Text “connect Notion,” or tap Connect on the Connections tab of your account dashboard. The assistant texts you a secure link.
  2. Tap the link, then Continue to Notion.
  3. Sign in to Notion and pick the workspace.
  4. Choose the pages and databases the assistant may use (your trackers, job pages, the page new pages should go under), then allow access.
  5. You’re returned to Tack, and the assistant confirms in your thread.
  6. On Connections, choose who on your team can use Notion under Who can use it.

The link works once and expires after 15 minutes. To share more pages later, open the page in Notion, tap ••• → Connections, and add Tack.

Notion doesn’t use scopes. Our integration asks for these capabilities, and only for the pages you share:

Capability Why
Read content Find pages and databases by name, read a database’s columns, and read pages back to you
Insert content Add rows, create pages and add notes
Update content Change a column on a row, and move something the assistant just created to the trash when you text undo

The assistant doesn’t ask for access to people’s email addresses.

  • On the Tack website (owners and admins): go to Connections, open Manage connection next to Notion and tap Disconnect. We revoke our access token at Notion and delete it on our side.
  • In Notion: go to Settings → Connections, find Tack and choose Disconnect.
  • By text (owners and admins): text disconnect Notion and say yes when the assistant asks.

Rows, pages and notes the assistant created stay in Notion.

  • Notion is built but not open yet: you can’t connect it until our integration is public.
  • The assistant can only see pages you shared with it. If it says it can’t find a page you know exists, share that page with Tack in Notion.
  • A status has to be one of the database’s existing options; the assistant tells you the options if it doesn’t match. A new select or tag value is added as a new option.
  • People, relation, file and formula columns aren’t filled in from texts. Values for them go on the row’s page instead.
  • Database names need to be close to what’s in Notion; the assistant asks which one when two match.
