Procore
Fill in the daily log, file jobsite photos, add punch items and observations, and check open RFIs and the schedule in Procore by text. Built, not open yet; an owner or admin connects it once for the team.

What the assistant can do
Section titled “What the assistant can do”| You text | What happens in Procore |
|---|---|
| “Finished framing at 12 Oak, 4 guys 8 hours” | Adds a manpower entry to today’s daily log: 4 workers, 8 hours each, with “Finished framing” as the note |
| “Daily log for 12 Oak: inspector passed the rough electrical” | Adds a note to today’s daily log |
| “Log rain delay today at the Smith job” | Adds a delay to the daily log, using your Weather delay type |
| (photos) “Add these to 12 Oak” | Uploads the photos to the project’s Photos (into an album if you name one) |
| “Punch item at 12 Oak: cracked tile in master bath, assign Mike” | Creates the punch item and assigns it to Mike |
| “Observation: missing guardrail on 2nd floor at 12 Oak” | Logs a safety observation on the project |
| “What RFIs are open on 12 Oak?” | Lists the open RFIs, soonest due first, with overdue ones flagged |
| “What’s on the schedule at 12 Oak this week?” | Lists this week’s schedule tasks with dates and percent complete |
Everything on this list happens right away, and you get a short reply saying what was done. Text undo within 10 minutes to take back the last one: a daily log entry, punch item or observation is deleted, and uploaded photos are deleted (plus an album the assistant created for them). Lookups don’t change anything. See Confirmations and undo for when the assistant asks first anyway.
See the full list of what the assistant can do in Procore, with example texts, the API call behind each action, and which ones ask first or can be undone.
Requirements
Section titled “Requirements”- A Procore account with the Daily Log, Photos, Punch List, Observations, RFIs and Schedule tools turned on for the projects you’ll text about. The assistant only uses the tools you ask for.
- The Tack owner or an admin connects Procore. It’s a company connection: one connection that the owner or admin shares with the team.
- A Procore company admin installs the Tack app in Procore’s App Management (once per Procore company).
How to connect
Section titled “How to connect”- In Procore, a company admin opens Company Tools → Admin → App Management, chooses Install App → Install Custom App, and pastes the installation key we give you. This is what lets the app work in your company.
- In your thread, text “connect Procore,” or tap Connect on the Connections tab of your account dashboard. The assistant texts you a secure link.
- Tap the link, then Continue to Procore, sign in to Procore and approve access.
- You’re returned to Tack, and the assistant confirms in your thread. It reads your project list so “12 Oak” or “the Smith job” finds the right project.
- On Connections, choose who on your team can use Procore under Who can use it.
The link works once and expires after 15 minutes. If a member asks for Procore before it’s connected, the assistant tells them the owner or an admin has to connect it.
More than one Procore company? That’s fine. The assistant reads projects from every company your login belongs to, and each project already knows its company. If two companies have a project with the same name, it asks once which one you mean.
Permissions
Section titled “Permissions”Procore doesn’t use a permission list on its sign-in screen. Instead, the assistant can do exactly what the Procore user who connected it can do, project by project. If that user can’t create punch items on a project (or the tool is off there), the assistant tells you it doesn’t have permission for that, and everything else keeps working.
Delete permissions are used only to take back what the assistant just did, when you text “undo”.
Can’t connect it yourself?
Section titled “Can’t connect it yourself?”Book a 15-minute setup call and we’ll connect it with you.
Disconnecting and revoking access
Section titled “Disconnecting and revoking access”- On the Tack website (owners and admins): go to Connections, open Manage connection next to Procore and tap Disconnect. We revoke our access with Procore and delete our stored tokens.
- By text (owners and admins): text disconnect Procore and say yes when the assistant asks.
- In Procore: a company admin can uninstall the app in App Management. The next time the assistant tries to use Procore it finds the access gone and marks the connection disconnected.
Daily log entries, photos, punch items and observations the assistant created stay in Procore.
Limits and known issues
Section titled “Limits and known issues”- Procore is built but not open yet: you can’t connect it until our app is live.
- Everything happens as the Procore user who connected it, so entries show that person as the creator.
- A delay’s hours go in its comments; Procore works out a delay’s duration from start and end times, which a text usually doesn’t give.
- Weather logs, timecards, inspections and RFI answers aren’t done by text yet.
- Very large photos (over 50 MB) and videos aren’t uploaded.
