Housecall Pro: what the assistant can do

Everything the assistant can do in Housecall Pro by text: 9 actions, with example texts, the Housecall Pro API call behind each one, and which ones ask first or can be undone.

In Housecall Pro, the assistant can find a customer, add a customer, book a job, move a job, add a note to a job, add charges to a job, create an estimate, see the schedule and see who owes you. You ask by text, in your own words.

Status: Beta. How to connect, permissions and limits: Housecall Pro.

Asking first and undo follow the same rules for every tool: see Confirmations and undo.

Looks up a customer by name, company, phone, email or address and replies with their contact details and address.

  • Asks before doing it? No. It only looks things up.
  • Can be undone? Nothing to undo: it doesn’t change anything.
  • Housecall Pro API call: GET /customers?q=
  • Action name: housecallpro.find_customer

Example texts:

  • “what’s the Garcias’ number in Housecall Pro?”
  • “look up Acme Property Management in HCP”
  • “who is 512-555-0142”

Adds a new customer (a person or a company) with their phone, email and address. Housecall Pro notifications for them start off.

  • Asks before doing it? Usually not. It asks first if it isn’t sure what you meant, a name only roughly matches, or the request covers more than 5 records.
  • Can be undone? No. Change or remove it in the tool itself.
  • Housecall Pro API call: POST /customers
  • Action name: housecallpro.create_customer

Example texts:

  • “create customer Acme Property Management in Housecall Pro”

Creates a job for a customer at their service address, scheduled if you give a time, assigned to the tech you name, with any priced items you mention. The customer isn’t notified.

Moves a customer’s job to a new date and time, keeping its length and its techs. The customer isn’t notified; the techs are.
