What the assistant can do
Section titled “What the assistant can do”| You text | What happens in CompanyCam |
|---|---|
| (3 photos) “These are for the Henderson job” | Uploads the photos to the Henderson project |
| (2 photos) “Before pics for Miller roof, north side” | Uploads them with that caption |
| (photo) “Put this on the Lopez kitchen project, tag it damage” | Uploads it with the tag “damage” |
| “Start a CompanyCam project for 4410 Ridge Rd, Austin TX 78745” | Creates the project (or finds it, if one with that name and address already exists) |
| “Note on the Henderson project: gate code 4512” | Adds a comment to the project, or to its latest photo if you say “on that last photo” |
| “Add the roof inspection checklist to the Henderson project” | Adds a checklist from one of your templates, or a blank one with the title you give |
| “Do we have a project for 12 Oak St?” | Finds the project and replies with its address, photo count and link |
| “Did Mike upload pics for 12 Oak St today?” | Lists the latest photos with who took them, when, and a link |
How photos get there is on Texting photos.
Everything on this list happens right away, and you get a short reply saying what was done (“Added 3 photos to Henderson roof in CompanyCam.”). The assistant asks first only in the cases on Confirmations and undo, for example when the project name you texted only roughly matches one in CompanyCam, or you send more than 5 photos at once.
Undo: text undo within 10 minutes to remove the photos you just uploaded (CompanyCam keeps them in its deleted items, so they can be restored) or a project you just created. A project that already has photos isn’t deleted; the assistant tells you to delete it in CompanyCam if you meant to. Comments and checklists can’t be undone by text; remove them in CompanyCam.
See the full list of what the assistant can do in CompanyCam, with example texts, the API call behind each action, and which ones ask first or can be undone.

Disconnecting and revoking access
Section titled “Disconnecting and revoking access”- On the Tack website (owners and admins): go to Connections, open Manage connection next to CompanyCam and tap Disconnect. We tell CompanyCam to revoke our access and delete our stored tokens.
- In CompanyCam: remove Tack from your connected integrations. The next time the assistant tries CompanyCam, it’s refused, and we mark the connection disconnected.
- By text (owners and admins): text disconnect CompanyCam and say yes when the assistant asks.
Projects, photos and comments already in CompanyCam stay there.
Limits and known issues
Section titled “Limits and known issues”- CompanyCam is built but not open yet: you can’t connect it until our app is live.
- Up to 20 photos per message, 100 MB each. Photos only: videos, PDFs and other files aren’t uploaded.
- The private links the assistant uses to fetch your photos expire after 15 minutes. If it asks you something first and you answer later than that, send the photos again.
- The assistant doesn’t look at what’s in your photos, so say which job they’re for.
