DocuSign

Send agreements from your DocuSign templates or a PDF or photo you text, to one signer or several in order, save a document as a template, check what's signed and what's still out, get the signed copy by text, resend reminders and void envelopes. An owner or admin connects it once for the team.

AvailableE-signature
You text What happens in DocuSign
“What DocuSign templates do I have?” Lists your templates
“Send the listing agreement to Jane Ortiz, jane@ortiz.com” Shows you a preview, then sends an envelope from that template to Jane when you say yes
“Send the lease to Maria Garcia, maria.g@example.com, as tenant” Same, with Maria in the template’s Tenant role
“Send the purchase contract to Tom Garcia tom@garcia.com and his wife Ana ana@garcia.com, him first” Sends one envelope to both, Tom first and Ana once he’s signed, after you confirm
“Did Jane sign?” Tells you whether the envelope was sent, opened, signed, declined or voided
“What’s still out for signature?” Lists each envelope still waiting, who it’s waiting on, and when it went out
“Send me the signed Garcia contract” Texts you a link to the signed PDF
“Remind Elena to sign the supply agreement” Resends the envelope, after you confirm
“Void the Henderson contract” Voids the envelope, after you confirm
(a PDF or photo) “Send this to Jane Ortiz at jane@ortiz.com to sign” Shows you a preview, then sends that document to Jane when you say yes
(a PDF or photo) “Save this as a template called Service Agreement” Saves it as a DocuSign template with one signer, so “send the service agreement to Jane” works right away

Signed, declined or voided: once DocuSign is live, the assistant texts whoever sent an envelope when it’s completed (“Jane Ortiz signed …”, with a link to the signed PDF), declined (with the reason, if the signer gave one) or voided. You don’t need to set anything up in DocuSign for this.

The signed copy: the completed text includes a link to the signed PDF, and “send me the signed Garcia contract” texts the link again anytime. The link works for 24 hours; after that, just ask again. Opening it downloads the PDF straight from DocuSign through your connection; we don’t keep a copy.

Several signers: name everyone who signs, with their emails: “send the lease to Tom Garcia and his wife Ana, him first.” Say who goes first to have them sign one after another, or “at the same time” to send to everyone at once. With no order, a template keeps its own routing order, and a document you text goes to everyone at once. From a template, each signer fills the next open signer role (or the role you name: “Ana as co-buyer”); the preview lists everyone with their role. Up to four signers per envelope.

What asks first: sending, resending and voiding always wait for your OK, because they reach another person and can’t be undone. The preview shows the template, the signer’s name and email, and any template roles that will be left off. Listing templates and checking status don’t change anything.

Text a PDF, or photos of the pages, with who should sign it: “send this to Jane Ortiz at jane@ortiz.com to sign.” The preview names the document, Jane and her email, and says where she signs:

  • She places her own signature (DocuSign’s free-form signing), when your account allows it. This is the default on most accounts.
  • A signature and date box at the bottom of the last page, when your account requires signature boxes (for example, when Document Visibility is turned on). If DocuSign turns down free-form signing when it sends, nothing goes out, the assistant tells you, and the next try uses the box.

Photos (JPEG, PNG or iPhone HEIC) become one page each, in the order you sent them. A PDF goes as it is. Send one PDF or photos, not both. Each document can be up to 25 MB. Password-protected PDFs and Word files can’t be sent; export a PDF first. You get the same “signed” text as for template envelopes.

Save it as a template: “save this as a template called Service Agreement” makes a DocuSign template from the document you texted, with one signer role, Client (or the role you name: “signer is the tenant”). The same signature rule applies. Say undo within 10 minutes to delete it. Right after, “send the service agreement to Jane” works. For initials on every page, several signers or other fields, finish the template once in DocuSign’s editor; the reply links there.

See the full list of what the assistant can do in DocuSign, with example texts, the API call behind each action, and which ones ask first or can be undone.

  • A DocuSign eSignature plan. The assistant sends from your templates, or the PDF or photo you text; it doesn’t draft contracts.
  • A DocuSign user who can send envelopes. Envelopes the assistant sends count toward your plan’s envelope allowance.
  • The Tack owner or an admin connects DocuSign. It’s a company connection that the owner or admin shares with the team.
  1. Text “connect DocuSign,” or tap Connect on the Connections tab of your account dashboard. The assistant texts you a secure link.
  2. Tap the link, then Continue to DocuSign.
  3. Sign in to DocuSign and allow Tack access.
  4. You’re returned to Tack, and the assistant confirms in your thread.
  5. On Connections, choose who on your team can use DocuSign under Who can use it. Someone set to Can use, can’t send can check status but can’t send, resend or void.

The link works once and expires after 15 minutes. The assistant uses your DocuSign user’s default account.

Permission Why
Signature (signature) Read your templates, send envelopes from them or from a document you text, save a document as a template, check status, resend and void. It also reads your account’s signing settings, to know whether signers can place their own signature
Extended access (extended) Stay connected without signing in again every 30 days

The assistant also reads your basic DocuSign profile (name, email and account) so it sends from the right account.

If your templates need setting up, or your company’s DocuSign admin has to approve the connection, book a 15-minute setup call.

DocuSign doesn’t let apps revoke their own access, so removing Tack takes two steps:

  1. On Tack (owners and admins): text disconnect DocuSign and say yes, or go to Connections on the website, open Manage connection next to DocuSign and tap Disconnect. We delete our stored tokens right away, so the assistant stops using DocuSign. When you disconnect by text, the reply includes the DocuSign link for step 2.
  2. In DocuSign: select your profile image, then Manage Profile → Connected Apps, and click Revoke next to Tack. A DocuSign organization admin can also revoke Tack for every user in the organization.

If you only revoke in DocuSign, our access stops when the current access token expires (up to 8 hours), and we mark the connection disconnected.

Envelopes already sent aren’t affected.

  • Up to four signers per envelope. From a template, each signer fills one signer role (the one you name, like “as tenant”, or the next open one in the template’s order). Roles nobody fills are left off, and the preview says which.
  • Template fields aren’t filled in from your texts; they come from the template as you set it up in DocuSign.
  • Documents you text get either free-form signing or a signature and date box per signer at the bottom of the last page. Placing fields exactly and conditional fields aren’t done by text: set those up in DocuSign’s template editor.
  • Signed copies come as a link, not an attachment, and the link works for 24 hours.
  • Attachment links last 15 minutes. If you say yes to a preview later than that, send the document again.
