# Texting photos

> Text jobsite photos with a line saying which job they're for, and the assistant files them on the right CompanyCam project. How it works, when it asks first, and how long photo links last.

Snap the photos, send them in your thread with a few words about the job, and the assistant files them in [CompanyCam](https://asktack.com/docs/integrations/companycam/). CompanyCam is **coming soon**, so this works once your team has connected it.

## Sending photos

Attach the photos in Messages like you would to a coworker, and say which job they're for in the same text:

> *(3 photos)* These are for the Henderson job

> *(2 photos)* Before pics for Miller roof, north side

> *(photo)* Put this on 12 Oak St, tag it damage

The assistant finds the project by name or address, uploads the photos and replies:

> Added 3 photos to Henderson roof in CompanyCam.

Anything you add becomes the caption ("north side") or tags ("tag it damage") on every photo in that text.

No project yet? Ask it to make one first: "Start a CompanyCam project for 4410 Ridge Rd."

## When it asks first

Usually it just uploads. It asks first, with a preview like *Add 8 photos to Henderson roof in CompanyCam?*, when:

- you send **more than 5 photos** at once,
- the project you named only **roughly matches** one in CompanyCam, or
- it **isn't sure** which project you meant.

Say **yes** to upload, or tell it which project. All the cases are on [Confirmations and undo](https://asktack.com/docs/confirmations-and-undo/).

## Taking it back

Text **undo** within 10 minutes to remove the photos you just added. CompanyCam keeps removed photos in its deleted items, so they can still be restored there.

## What happens to your photos

- When you text a photo, the assistant gets a **private link** to it. The link only works for that one photo, and it **expires after 15 minutes**.
- The assistant downloads the photo through that link and uploads it straight to CompanyCam. If it asked you something and you answer after the link expired, send the photos again.
- The assistant doesn't look at what's in your photos. It only knows what you tell it, so say which job they're for.
- It only downloads from links to photos you sent. A link pasted from somewhere else isn't used.

## Limits

- Up to **20 photos** per text, **100 MB** each.
- Photos only (JPEG, PNG, HEIC and other image formats). Videos, PDFs and other files aren't uploaded.
- Photos go to CompanyCam only. Other tools can't receive photos yet.
