# Salesforce

> Find contacts, leads and accounts, log calls and visits, add notes and tasks, and create and move opportunities in Salesforce by text. Built, not open yet; each rep connects their own Salesforce user.

Status: Built, not open yet

**Built, not open yet.** The Salesforce actions below are built. You can connect Salesforce once our Salesforce app is available to other orgs. Until then, ask in your thread and we'll text you when it's ready.

## What the assistant can do

| You text | What happens in Salesforce |
|---|---|
| "What's Dana Whitfield's number?" | Finds the contact (or lead) and replies with their phone, email, title and account |
| "Add Tom Becker, GM at Lone Star Hardware, 512-555-0177" | Creates the contact under that account |
| "New lead: Priya Shah at Shah Fabrication" | Creates a lead; "mark the Priya Shah lead as working" changes its status |
| "Log my visit with Acme, they want 200 units" | Logs a completed visit on the account, contact or opportunity |
| "Just talked to Jason Lee, wants samples in Round Rock" | Logs a call on his record |
| "Note on Acme Supply: gate code 4411" | Saves a note in the record's Notes list |
| "Follow up with Dana next Tuesday at 10" | Creates a task due that day with a reminder at 10, assigned to you |
| "New opportunity for Acme, $40k, closing Nov 30" | Creates the opportunity on the account, in the first stage unless you name one |
| "Mark Brazos Builders closed won" | Moves the opportunity to that stage; "give the Lone Star opp to Jake" changes the owner |
| "What's on my plate this week?" / "Show me my pipeline" / "What's the latest with Acme?" | Lists your open tasks, your open opportunities, or the latest calls, visits, meetings and notes on a record |

Everything on this list happens right away, and you get a short reply saying what was done. Text **undo** within 10 minutes to take back the last one: a new contact, lead, account, task, note, meeting or opportunity goes to Salesforce's Recycle Bin, and a change (a stage, an amount, a phone number, a completed task) gets its previous value back. Lookups don't change anything. See [Confirmations and undo](https://asktack.com/docs/confirmations-and-undo/) for when the assistant asks first anyway.

See the [full list of what the assistant can do in Salesforce](https://asktack.com/docs/actions/salesforce/), with example texts, the API call behind each action, and which ones ask first or can be undone.

## Requirements

- A Salesforce org with **API access**: Enterprise, Unlimited, Performance or Developer Edition, or Professional Edition with the API add-on. If the org has no API access, the assistant tells you when you connect.
- Your Salesforce user needs the **API Enabled** permission (on in most standard profiles), plus access to the objects you'll use: accounts, contacts, leads, opportunities, tasks, events and notes.
- Each rep connects **their own** Salesforce user. Records are created as you, and the assistant can only see and change what you can in Salesforce.

## How to connect

1. Text "connect Salesforce," or tap **Connect** on the **Connections** tab of your [account dashboard](https://asktack.com/docs/account-dashboard/). The assistant texts you a secure link.
2. Tap the link, then **Continue to Salesforce**.
3. Sign in with your usual Salesforce login (single sign-on works too).
4. Review the access the assistant asks for and tap **Allow**.
5. You're returned to Tack, and the assistant confirms in your thread.

The link works once and expires after 15 minutes. If your company uses a Salesforce sandbox for testing, ask us: sandbox orgs sign in on a different Salesforce page.

## Permissions requested

| Permission | Why |
|---|---|
| Manage user data via APIs (`api`) | Find, create and update records as you |
| Perform requests at any time (`refresh_token`, `offline_access`) | Keep working when you text later, without signing in again |

These don't widen what your user can do: your profile, permission sets, field-level security and sharing rules still apply. If one of them blocks something, the assistant says Salesforce didn't allow it and everything else keeps working.

## Disconnecting and revoking access

- **By text:** text **disconnect Salesforce** and say yes when the assistant asks.
- **On the Tack website:** go to **Connections**, open **Manage connection** next to Salesforce and tap **Disconnect**.
- Either way we revoke our token at Salesforce, which ends the access right away, and delete it on our side. You can also remove it yourself in Salesforce under your personal settings → **Connected Apps OAuth Usage**, or your admin can block it for the whole org.

Records the assistant created stay in Salesforce.

## Limits and known issues

- Salesforce is **built but not open yet**: you can't connect it until our Salesforce app is available to other orgs.
- Converting a lead into a contact, account and opportunity isn't available by text yet; do that in Salesforce.
- Opportunities need a close date in Salesforce, so the assistant asks for one if you don't say it.
- Custom required fields or validation rules your admin added can stop a save; the assistant tells you Salesforce's reason.
- Each request uses a little of your org's daily API allowance. If the org runs out, the assistant says so; the allowance refills over the next 24 hours.
- If you stop using the assistant for 30 days, Salesforce may ask you to connect again.
