# Granola

> Ask about your Granola meetings by text, get recaps and action items, and log meetings in your CRM. Built, not open yet; each person connects their own Granola account.

Status: Built, not open yet

**Built, not open yet.** The Granola actions below are built. Until Granola is live for your account, ask in your thread and we'll text you when it's ready.

Tack reads your meeting notes from [Granola](https://www.granola.ai), the AI notepad for meetings. It only reads: Granola has no way for other apps to change your notes, so nothing in Granola is ever edited or deleted.

## What the assistant can do

| You text | What happens |
|---|---|
| "What meetings did I have today?" | Lists today's meetings with the time and who was there |
| "Summarize my 2pm with Acme" | Replies with the meeting's summary, title, time and attendees |
| "What did Dana say about pricing in yesterday's call?" | Finds what was said about it in the notes and transcript, and who said it |
| "What are the action items from my last meeting?" | Lists the action items and next steps from the notes |
| "Log my 2pm Granola meeting with Acme in HubSpot" | Reads the meeting, then adds a note with the summary to Acme in HubSpot |
| "Make follow-up tasks from my last meeting" | Reads the action items, then creates a task for each one in your CRM |

The last two need a CRM connected too ([HubSpot](https://asktack.com/docs/integrations/hubspot/), [Pipedrive](https://asktack.com/docs/integrations/pipedrive/) or [Follow Up Boss](https://asktack.com/docs/integrations/follow-up-boss/)). The note or tasks are created by that CRM's own actions, so they follow its usual rules: see [Confirmations and undo](https://asktack.com/docs/confirmations-and-undo/).

If more than one meeting fits ("my call with Dana"), the assistant asks which one.

See the [full list of what the assistant can do in Granola](https://asktack.com/docs/actions/granola/), with example texts, the API call behind each action, and which ones ask first or can be undone.

## Requirements

- A Granola account. What the assistant can read depends on your Granola plan:
  - **Basic (free):** your notes from the last 30 days. Transcripts aren't shared, so answers come from the notes only.
  - **Business:** your notes and notes shared with you, including transcripts.
  - **Enterprise:** what your Granola admins allow. Admins choose which notes can be read, and can turn off access for AI tools or turn off transcripts.
- A Tack account. Anyone on your Tack team can connect their own Granola.

## How to connect

1. Text "connect Granola." The assistant texts you a secure link. (It also sends one on its own the first time you ask about a meeting.)
2. Tap the link, then continue to Granola.
3. Sign in to Granola the way you usually do and approve access for Tack.
4. You're returned to Tack, and the assistant confirms in your thread.

You can also start from **Connections** in the [account dashboard](https://asktack.com/docs/account-dashboard/).

The link works once and expires after 15 minutes. If it expires, text "connect Granola" again.

## Permissions requested

| Permission | Why |
|---|---|
| Your identity and email (`openid`, `email`) | Know which Granola account is connected |
| Offline access (`offline_access`) | Stay connected without asking you to sign in again |

Granola's connection for AI tools gives read access to the notes you can see in Granola. Tack connects through Granola's official MCP server, the same connection Granola offers to Claude and ChatGPT.

## Disconnecting and revoking access

**By text:** text **disconnect Granola**, and confirm when the assistant asks. We tell Granola to sign Tack out and delete our stored tokens.

**On the Tack website:** go to **Connections**, open **Manage connection** next to Granola and tap **Disconnect**.

## Limits and known issues

- Granola is **built but not open yet**.
- It's a personal connection: the assistant reads only your Granola notes, never a teammate's.
- A meeting shows up once Granola has finished its notes. A meeting that's still going, or whose notes are still being written, isn't there yet.
- Meeting times are shown as Granola gives them, in your time zone.
- Granola allows about 100 requests a minute per person, so very long back-to-back requests may slow down.
- Folders, Granola's own chat and screenshots of shared screens aren't supported.
